Deadline for NCI free places 15 Sep

02.09.2010
Unemployed professionals have a further two weeks to apply for a free college place at National College of Ireland (NCI) on various courses, including the Certificate in Entrepreneurship.

The free places are available in full and part-time courses in business and computing under the Government’s Labour Market Activation scheme.

They are available to all those who have been unemployed for three months or more and places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Certificate in Entrepreneurship is a 13-week programme worth €1300.

“If you have a business idea that you want to turn into a start-up or if you just want to sharpen your entrepreneurial or business skills then this course is ideal. It will allow you to understand what it takes to create a new venture and equip you with a really practical knowledge of finance, marketing and management,” said the college’s director of student recruitment, Robert Ward.

“The scheme is a great opportunity for those looking to up-skill but who are worried about the fees. Courses are available on a full or part-time basis from our IFSC campus and at selected locations around the country. This means applicants can choose whether to study during the day or in the evening, whichever is the most convenient.”

The courses will commence from the college’s IFSC campus and at selected locations around the country in September and October this year.

To reserve a free place contact NCI on 1850 221 721 or download an application form from www.ncirl.ie.
