Taking place on 8 October in The Heritage Hotel, Portlaoise the Start and Grow Enterprise Expo is geared towards people who are starting or growing a business.
The first of its kind in the Midlands, the Start and Grow Enterprise Expo is being hosted by Laois County Enterprise Board, Enterprise Ireland, Laois County Council, Laois Chamber and the Laois Partnership and will be an opportunity for budding entrepreneurs to access information about starting and growing a business.
Prominent entrepreneurs, enterprise support agencies and mentors will be in attendance to inform people about opportunities, funding and support available to them.
Targeted at potential entrepreneurs and early stage companies in the Midlands region, the Start and Grow Enterprise Expo will aim to be a ‘one-stop-solution’ for business start-ups and entrepreneurs facing the challenges of recessionary times. The Expo will also be useful in equipping established companies with information about how to remain successful during the slowdown.
Those attending will also hear from key experts, view demonstrations in the ‘Ideas Zone’, avail of individual mentoring sessions and network with other businesspeople.
Established entrepreneurs who will speak at the Expo include John Teeling, founder and chairman of Cooley Distillery; Terry Clune, founder and CEO, Taxback.com; Gabriel D’Arcy, managing director, Bord na Móna; and Gerard Cleary, director of Offaly-based organic food company Glenisk.
