Set up earlier this year by Amanda Webb and Lorna Sixsmith, the KLCK (Kildare, Laois, Carlow, Kilkenny)  Bloggers Network had its second meet up last night in the Talbot Hotel Carlow. The event proved to be a success, with bloggers from all over Ireland in attendance.

“The group’s aim is to bring together bloggers and share knowledge and expertise,” explains Webb. “Last night two of our members presented on setting up a Wordpress blog and how to benefit from Flickr. Next month we will be talking about various ‘plugins’ or applications you can add to your blog.”

Blogging network open to all

While he group initially set out to service the Kildare, Laois, Carlow and Kilkenny region, it is open to everyone.

“Last night people travelled from as far as Limerick to join in. Those who couldn’t make the event in person were able to watch via a live webcam stream and follow the live Twitterfeed.”

Monthly meetings

The KLCK Bloggers Network will meet on the second Monday of each month, alternating between the four counties.

At each meeting two members will share their expertise on blogging, social media and Internet marketing with the group, the aim being for all members to maximise their web presence and become better bloggers.

The next meet up is at 7pm on 13 September in a Portlaoise venue that's yet to be confirmed.
