The Synergy Business Incubation Centre set up in 2007 at the Institute of Technology Tallaght (ITT) has different tenancy options for high potential start-ups.
Tenants at Synergy Centre, which currently has over 20 early-stage companies located onsite, have access to free professional training programmes, a variety of monthly networking events and one-to-one mentoring clinics. The venue also offers boardroom facilities, free WiFi, secure car parking and an on-site café.
Own-door office units at Synergy Centre range from 18sq m to 46sq m and are available for rent from €600 per month plus VAT including light, heating, security and broadband services, as well as business development support. Alternatively, one-man operations can rent desk space in a secure office environment from just €40 per week plus VAT.
Virtual tenancy an option at Synergy
Virtual tenancy is also available to high-potential start-up (HPSU) companies who wish to grow their business as part of the Synergy Centre’s entrepreneurial community but do not wish to physically locate their company in the venue. It costs €250 for a six-month period plus VAT and offers access to events, mentoring and support services as well as limited access to Synergy Centre facilities and meeting rooms.
Applicants must have a viable business concept, embrace innovation and demonstrate that their product or service has export potential.
Flourishing in an incubation space
“The Synergy Centre is focused on fostering innovation, and we have found that entrepreneurs and high potential new businesses flourish in our state-of-the-art incubation space. Our business clinics, flexible office-sharing facilities and networking events are all extremely popular but our tenants tell us the greatest advantage is sharing their work space with other like-minded individuals with whom they can share ideas, provide feedback and offer support,” says Pat O’Donnell, manager of the Synergy Centre at ITT Dublin.
“There is overwhelming evidence internationally that high-tech companies based in incubators for the initial years have substantially higher success rates than those based in own-door accommodation. Incubators on third-level college campuses have substantially better results again. Synergy Centre at ITT Dublin has been independently assessed as one of the top campus-based incubators in Ireland.”
