Media Cube, the specialised centre for digital media and software companies on the Institute of Art, Design and Technology’s (IADT’s) campus is holding an open day on 26 March as part of part of Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown Enterprise Week.
Media Cube is the only dedicated campus-based incubation centre for the digital media and creative software sectors in Ireland. It is a 1,100 m2 facility, with about 600 m2 divided into 26 enterprise units ranging from 14 m2 to 25 m2 in size, an embryo (hot desk) area and industrial research space.
Promoting the development of digital-media and content companies
“Companies locate here for a reason and that is why we continue to have a waiting list even in these difficult economic times. Our objectives are to promote the development of digital-media and content companies that have the potential to grow and trade internationally – and to date the companies that have passed through the centre have been very successful,” says Media Cube manager, Martin Hogan.
Access to specialist expertise
“The location of the Cube on IADT’s campus ensures that client enterprises have access to specialist staff/expertise, a route to obtaining research and development funding and a direct link with the digita- media community. Business-to-business interaction is at a very high level in the centre with companies using skills and talents of the companies in the centre to benefit their own businesses and to work on collaborative mutually beneficial projects.”
