A new Irish business networking website, SmartLeads.ie, has been launched with the aim of revolutionising how companies generate new sales leads.
Backed by two former Google directors, SmartLeads.ie is currently in the beta trial phase, with 250 Irish companies having already signed up to try out the service.
Thirty-four year old Dublin entrepreneur Dave Curry set up the new operation, which he describes as “the world’s first dedicated sales leads exchange website for businesses of all sizes”.
Curry gained his online commercial experience when working for BT Ireland for five years. More recently, he was making his living as a mortgage broker.
“The idea for SmartLeads.ie occurred to me a year ago, when I was looking at using networking websites to help generate more business as a struggling, self-employed mortgage broker. While there were business networking websites out there, none had the focus on sales leads which one would find in traditional breakfast business networking groups,” he says.
The central concept of the site is simple, as Curry explains: when any member provides a lead to another member, they’ll receive one in return, in the form of a credit. This reciprocal lead can come from any member on the entire network. The more they give to the community, the more they get back for their own business.
Members will pay a small annual membership fee for unlimited use of the service, but every business will be given the opportunity to try it out for free and see if it suits them.
