In my business plan, what will the financial plan section need to cover?

The financial section of a business plan should prove that your business is viable and, dependent on company size, the most common documents in this area are:

  • Cash -low statements
  • Profit and loss accounts
  • Balance sheets.

I believe year one should be in detail with year two and three in at least summary form.

Other documents may include:

  • Breakeven analysis
  • Industry ratios
  • Funding sources
  • Capital investment schedule
  • An exit strategy schedule.
